The Teaching of Jesus Christ
Though of the moment: insomnia

I have a tendency to analyze people. Rather than take someone's actions at face value, I think to myself.. what lies beneath these words, behind these actions. Especially when people unleash their emotions at an uninhibited state, regardless of whether it's anger, grief, bliss.. I notice that the source of such extreme expressions has to be deeper than the superficial appearances that are evident. Modern day psychologists seem to dismiss freud's theories of the subconscious as unscientific. His far-fetched theories of the Oedipus Complex(mother and son action) are arguable, but all of us have experienced either directly or indirectly when suppressed emotions erupt at inappropriate times. If you think about it, what we argue about on the surface are almost always childish and unreasonable. There's a deeper reason, a greater cause that lies dormant within our subconscious and manifests with the proper trigger. Ironically, sometimes we are even aware of this process while or soon after it happens. Whether or not we have the emotional intelligence to resist this propensity for action is a different story.

Of course I have experienced this phenomenon myself. Fortunately, I have learned early of the ruthless consequences of misplaced emotions. As far as I'm concerned, I have identified such psychological predisposition that make me susceptible to this kinda behaviour. And I try my best to catch myself when I am tested. Unfortunately, it seems many of us are still victims of this self-destructive phenomenon. By no means do I point this out to gloat or to belittle. I give these people the benefit of the doubt and believe that the wounds inflicted upon them were merely deeper and greater than mine. That is most probably the reason behind their lack of self-awareness and control. What is even more unfortunate than the occurence of such behaviour is the way in which the mass reacts to it. Rather than be understanding, forgiving, and encouraging, they(we) react to the appearances of the surface. When a victimized individual harboring subconscious wounds lashes out in an inapproriate way to an inappropriate person, most who perceive such behaviour only perceive the inappropriate actions. They fail to realize that the individual's cries of bitterness and cynicism, are in fact, pained cries of help.

I don't endorse(nor reject) the belief of any absolute evil or good our world. But one thing that I am certain of is that evil as far as I can see, is a self-perpetuating cycle that infects and leads to self-destruction. As long as we live in this world, majority determines what is right and wrong. And insofar as the majority reacts this way to such phenomenon, millions of human beings victimized by the uglyness of this world, continue to be alienated and outcasted. Their ugly scars prevent them from normal social interaction, and the victims continue to be victimized by our selfishness, lack of understanding, and most importantly, by our indifference.

Jesus Christ dined with the prostitutes and taxcollectors. I desire to do the same.
(especially with the prostitutes... jk)

In spite of everything, I still believe that people are good at heart.
- Anne Frank

By his love he is enabled to see the essential traits and features in the beloved person; and even more, he sees that which is potential in him, which is not yet actualized but yet ought to be actualized.
- Viktor Frankl

Love conquers all
