The Power of Love
In either case, I agree with you wholeheartedly.
Find your calling in life, and start doing it out of love for the rest of the world, not money. Once you start to give love you will start to receive love. This love can come in many different forms, but if you choose to live in love and not fear you will be taken care of. As long as you are giving love you will be receiving love, it really is that simple. You will find that you feel far better receiving love as a paycheck than you did when you only received the paycheck without the love. Hopefully you feel this so strongly that you are willing to devote your life to love like we have.
“You must be the change you want to see in the world.” -Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi
I’ve reached this same exact conclusion not too long ago. It’s actually very surprising and refreshing to hear it from somebody else. I’ve always had an unrealistic goal of wanting to change the world for the better. When I was younger, I used to think I was gonna become the president or solve world poverty. Reality struck sometime in my late teens and I realized that I’m not as special as I thought I was.
But like that quote by Gandhi, I soon realized that most importantly, I needed to change myself. All of the negative things that I was seeing in the world were my own flaws being projected outwards. After realizing this, I was able to refocus my energy on changing the world, starting with myself. Then naturally, this positive energy would spread like a ripple from me towards my family, friends, and finally the rest of the world.
And LOVE. It’s the invisible force that we must have faith in. I’d go into why and how love is so great but it seems you already know what’s up, so I’ll save myself the trouble. ^__^
I will leave this with a verse from the bible(for the record, I’m agnostic).
There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
- 1 John 4:18
TL;DR: Be the change you wish to see. Love conquers all.
Opposition: I remember someone singing “Love, love is all we need” then he got killed.
Love does not conquer all and if you think it does then you need to open your eyes and stop living in denial.
The Counter: There is a self-perpetuating cycle of evil that has overtaken our society. It’s like an evil virus that is making it’s rounds generation after generation. Except instead of turning us into zombies, it turns us into evil, revengeful, bitter, cynical, and fearful human beings.
There are two ways deal with a zombie invasion. 1. we kill all the zombies or 2. we kill the virus. The movies have warned us that the former solution doesn’t work. We can try to quarantine all we want, the virus will eventually find its way out. The answer is the latter. We find the antidote, I am Legend style.
You see where I’m going with this. Love is the antidote against this self-perpetuating virus of evil. Fighting evil with more evil will only breed more of it. Inject yourself with the antidote. Then inject the zombies(ie. your mother in law) with the antidote. This is compassion.
When your hearts knows loving compassion, it’s impossible to be infected with the virus of evil. Not only are you immune, you have the power to heal the sick. Simply, turn the other cheek. And you’re right, John Lennon did get killed but his message lives on doesn’t it? He fought against the nwo and died a martyrs death. Now he’s a legend. The point is, the point of it all isn’t survival. It’s living every moment to the fullest without compromising your ethics.
TL;DR: Sometimes, to die is to gain. Shout out to Jesus.
Nike, Just do it
We need to get get these things right. Examine your needs. Find your purpose then act on the actions. I must overcome my laziness. Set up a goal and achieve it like a soldier who needs to accomplish his mission.
The enemy: Doubt
The solution: Faith is the answer. Faith is the Truth.
Conclusion: Be goal oriented. Execute your goals and execute your dreams.
